Manager / Producer Bosslady

Manager and producer Sharn McTavish better known as “Bosslady”  was born on March 1, 1976, in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica, and migrated to Canada at the age of nine. Growing up in Canada, she was immersed in a rich blend of musical cultures, developing a deep appreciation for dancehall, hip-hop, R&B, rap, reggae, Latin, soft rock, and lovers rock.

 

In 2017, Bosslady entered the music industry professionally as a producer, launching Bosslady Production, a company focused on authentic dancehall music for emerging international artists. She specialized in creating one-drop dancehall beats and, over a six-year period, produced more than 800 tracks. During this time, she led a team of six promoters and expanded her expertise in music publishing, music business affairs, intellectual property, and artist management.

 

To further support and promote the music she produced, Bosslady established her own radio platform and began DJing, strengthening her network and promotional reach. This experience refined her ear for sound, tone, and vocal performance, making her highly skilled in identifying and developing artistic potential.

 

In 2021, Bosslady founded NAJ RECORDS, a Calgary-based recording label specializing in dancehall, reggae, culture, and pop music. The label is home to a select roster of talented artists across dancehall, R&B, soul, and reggae, all dedicated to delivering high-quality, culturally rooted music. Under her leadership, NAJ RECORDS has become known for its emphasis on authenticity, strong artist development, and strategic promotion.

 

With over 15 years of experience spanning artist promotion, DJing, production, and label management,  “Bosslady” is a dynamic force in the music industry. As the driving force behind NAJ RECORDS, she continues to expand the reach of dancehall and Caribbean-influenced music to audiences worldwide through professional management, innovative production, and a clear vision for sustainable artist growth.

Bosslady is currently building an impressive catalog with four original tracks: “Silky flex,” “Kickback,” “Push e en deh” and “Ride pon it.” She remains focused on creating new music to further expand her body of work. NAJ RECORDS also operates its own recording facility, Hype Studio, a full-service recording studio based in Calgary.

Bosslady has signed three talented artists to the NAJ RECORDS label: Stephon Scott, Elli Hekima, and Sasco De Dancehall Chaplin.” Together, they will be producing a diverse range of music including dancehall, reggae, culture, roots, R&B, and pop. Under her leadership, NAJ RECORDS is focused on elevating these artists to new heights, with a strategic emphasis on expanding into European markets, Brazil, Germany, and beyond.

NAJ RECORDS is backed by a strong, dedicated team of promoters,  road manager Jacqueline Samuels and its own in-house booking agent, Amma James, based in Europe "France". Together, they will focus on elevating the  artists to the next level and driving long-term success in the international music industry.​
